This time of year can be very challenging for those who struggle with low mood during the winter with many cloudy days and very little sunshine.
Many people use a special lamp which imitates sun light and try the self-help advice given to those experiencing depression, for example;-
- Eat a balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables and keep meal times regular
- Stay in touch with family and friends and chat to them if you are feeling low
- Take regular exercise, even if that’s only a 20 minute walk 3 times a week
- Keep alcohol consumption to a minimum and have at least 4 alcohol free days each week
